Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the room was small without a balcony and had a noisy A/C and train nearby, the service compensated by being friendly and offering free breakfast. The location, though not perfect, was still close to the downtown area of Nelson. The dining experience was satisfying, and the facilities were decent.
Upon arrival, I found the rooms not very clean, with no improvement throughout my stay. The 'no smoking' policy was not enforced, lacking counter space in the bathroom and room, and the advertised barbeque was unavailable. Most exterior doors were unusable with the provided room key card. The parking situation was subpar for a 'motor hotel,' and the shower area was quite dark even on bright days.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. On the one hand, the location was beautiful and close to all amenities, making it convenient for exploring the area. However, the rooms weren't very clean upon arrival, and there was no improvement during my stay. The advertised barbecue was not available, and most exterior doors were not usable with the room key card, leading to inconvenience. Additionally, the vehicle parking was very poor for a 'motor hotel' like this.
The hotel is conveniently located close to various dining options, parks, and shopping centers. The rooms are nicely presented and offer comfortable beds, although some may find them small with limited window space. The service provided was exceptional, with a friendly and accommodating staff. The dining experience was delightful, particularly at the neighboring resort. Overall, the location is accessible and offers proximity to key amenities and attractions.
Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, though small with limited natural light, were impeccably clean, and I appreciated the complimentary upgrade to a balcony room. The service was top-notch with friendly and accommodating staff. However, the early train passing by was a major disturbance. The dining options were limited, and the advertised barbecue was not available, a letdown for those looking forward to it.
The hotel had some drawbacks such as small and not-so-clean rooms, lack of cleanliness improvement during the stay, and issues with room amenities like the non-functional advertised barbeque and limited space. On the upside, the service was excellent with helpful staff offering assistance with activities and even saving money. However, the location was a bit further from the town center and had some noise disturbances. The dining experience had its ups and downs with certain limitations and changes in restaurant agreements.
I found the hotel to be a mixed bag. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff were professional. However, there were inconveniences like the noise issue and slow service. The service was top-notch, with a microwave provided, which was greatly appreciated for our baby. The location was decently close to downtown and had great views of the lake, but the noise from the rail track was disruptive. Dining options were a hit and miss, with fantastic breakfast buffet but a disappointing experience at the hotel restaurant. Overall, a stay with both positives and negatives.
